Don't Drink and Drive

charleslynch dui cover 600x600I wrote, recorded and produced "Don't Drink and Drive" and started the lyrics from jail as a young adult. In the early 1990's My brother Pat RIP was arrested for DUI in Las Cruces New Mexico and I was along for the ride. Stupid me got arrested for "Obstructing Justice" when I got out the car to say I could drive since I was not drunk and without another word found myself against the car, in cuffs and under arrest and a broken finger nail :( These charges were eventually dropped when the officer didn't show for court. I had previously called the officer and nicely asked him if he could drop the charges considering I am usually a pretty nice guy.

But Wait! The story doesn't end there. Little benst known that my good friend Peter Brown, aka Otis Pickett did the lead guitar parts on this song. Pete showed up on my door step 2001 ish when I lived in Pismo Beach CA . I promptly put his lead guitar expertise to work. I pretty much already had the song written and recorded but his leads really put a fine touch on this recording. I was thinking it would be a good song for Garth Brooks and I to do together. Garth to Planet Earth can you hear me?

The story doesn't end there. Famed Film Maker Rick Ray used this song in his documentary about me, Lynching Charlie Lynch. The documentary is available digitally across the world wide web including Netflix and Hulu. Autographed copies of the Lynching Charlie Lynch DVD can be ordered from my online website Store.

And if all that isn't enough, there is a still to be cheoreographed dance that goes to this song. I call it the Don't Drink and Drive Dance. If you listen closely to the lyrics of the song it cheorographs the steps out for you. Dancing with the Stars are you listening yet? There could be a huge dancre competition to see who creates the best "Don't Drink and Drive Dance".

This song is available on iTunes and across the web soon.
